This study investigates student’s satisfaction level towards cafeteria services in Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) locat-ed in southeast Malaysia. A structured self-administered questionnaire survey has been conducted with 360 respondents by using stratified ran-dom sampling. This study adopted the Chi-Square test, Likelihood Ratio test and Binary Logistic Regression. The comparison result shows that students more satisfied to the Campus Cafeteria compared to the College Cafeteria. A significance test for the logistic coefficient by using the Likelihood Ratio test with predictors Food Quality, Staff Skills, Waiting Time and Gender show strong significant predictors that influenced stu-dent’s satisfaction towards cafeteria services. Hosmer-Lemeshow test revealed the greater p-value of Model 1 (0.418) compared to Model 2 (0.261). Therefore, Model 1 has been chosen as the best model with Food Quality, Staff Skills, Waiting Time and Gender were significant factors in influencing the student’s satisfaction towards the cafeteria

Can gold Dinar replace fiat money as currency? / Noraini Peie … [et al.]

    Get PDF
Currency instability often leads to economic crisis. This can be seen in period of worldwide economic recession in 1933, Mexican Peso crisis in 1995, currency depreciation in Southeast Asia in 1997 and 1998, and the Russian Ruble crisis in 1998. These crises have led to a discourse on fiat money as a possible culprit to the crises due to its inherent promotion of speculation, debt and interest related economy. The currency crises have also resurfaced the discourse on using gold as a currency. This paper discusses the advantages of using gold dinar that enables it to be a superior currency than the existing fiat money. The paper further examines the possibility of replacing fiat money with the gold dinar and recognises that the implementation of gold dinar proves to be problematic under current realities. One of the major problems related to fiat money is that of credit creation. The paper argues that if the Islamic banking industry under the control of central bank could limit credit creation to prevent excessive growth of money, then the use of fiat money could be defended. In addition, current developments in crypto and digital currency could make the discourse of going back to gold in the future rather obsolete

An automotive industry in Malaysia contributed to the huge success in economic development. This study aims to investigate various factors that could affect the decision before deciding and purchasing a car as the first owner in Malaysia. The factors chosen have been considered by using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). This study could categorise as useful guideline for the first time car buyer and for automotive industry in Malaysia to seize challenges and further opportunities in preparing the first class service to customers. Besides, this study purpose is to identify the demography of respondents and most priority factors that could influenced car buyer to purchase a local and import car by using AHP. A total of 85 respondents have involved in this study, 72% consist of female and 28% of them are male. Besides, 49 of them have their own car and mostly buy their first car at the range age of 20-25 years' old. Results shows that the most priority criteria preferred the first time car are performance followed by safety system, economic aspect, technology, brand, after sales service and exterior where they present highest preference in performance as that is most important factor need to be considered before purchasing a car

Hankel Determinant of Logarithmic Coefficients for Tilted Starlike Functions With Respect to Conjugate Points

    Get PDF
The growth of the Hankel determinant whose elements are logarithmic coefficients for different subclasses of univalent functions has recently attracted considerable interest. In this paper, we obtain the bounds for the first four initial logarithmic coefficients for the subclass of starlike functions with respect to conjugate points in an open unit disk. Furthermore, we determine the upper bounds of the second Hankel determinant of logarithmic coefficients for this subclass. We also present some new consequences of our results

Improving Covariance Matrix Diagonalization in SLAM of Mobile Robot

    Get PDF
Diagonalization of covariance matrix through eigenvalue approach in extended Kalman Filter (EKF)-based simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) of mobile robot has been studied, as one of the possible approaches in reducing complexity hence computational cost of the system. However, the estimation is seemed to be too optimistic, and further investigation need to be conducted. In this paper, the effect on addition of Pseudo elements in the diagonalization process is investigated. It is evaluated at the updated state covariance matrix of EKF-based SLAM. It is found that the additional of pseudo components in diagonal matrix can improve the covariance matrix and lower the computational complexity. This finding has been proved through simulation

A review on experimental investigations and geotechnical Characteristic of peat soil stabilization

    Get PDF
Peat soil is an organic soil which consist more of that 70% of organic matters and can be recognize from their color and texture. Peat bogs are an important ecosystem that contributes significantly to global climate stability. Peat from Malaysia is tropical peat. This peat has distinct features that distinguish it from other types of peat. This soil is normally dark reddish-brown to black and made up of partially decomposed leaves, branches, twigs, and tree trunks with a low mineral content in its natural state. Various of experimental and study has been conducted to improve and stabilize of peat soil due to compressibility and geotechnical characteristics of peat. Peat also is an inadequate soil for sustaining foundations in its natural condition due to its high moisture content (>100%), high compressibility (0.9-1.5), and poor shear strength (5-20 kPa). Thus, injection method of Eco-Processed Pozzolan (EPP) will be used to increase the stabilization of peat soil. The study of index properties such as von Post scale, natural moisture content, liquid limit, bulk unit weight, specific gravity, initial void ratio, pH value, linear shrinkage, plastic limit, fiber content, ash content and organic content and composition compressibility of peat soil will be conducted; present of compressibility of peat soil with Eco-Processed Pozzolan (EPP). A comprehensive laboratory work will be carried out to study the compressive parameters of hemic peat stabilized with various quantities of EcoProcessed Pozzolan (EPP) which they were subjected to Rowe Cell Consolidation test between disturbed and undisturbed samples. From this research, the relationship between peat soil and Eco-Processed Pozzolan (EPP) will be determined whether usage of EPP may can increase a stabilization of peat soil and be a ‘binder’ element in peat soil
